A thrifty choice for bass-heavy noise-canceling headphones

From a distance, the Anker Soundcore Space One noise-canceling headphones look on par with their higher-end Space Q45 over-ears. After closer examination, you see that these headphones don't have quite the same build quality, but they still feel pretty solid and durable for the price. The same is true with many of the features — the two share a lot of similarities on paper, but you shouldn't expect the same level of noise cancellation, for example.

Still, like most Anker products, these headphones do a lot, and most of it well. That noise-canceling circuitry is capable of quieting loud, patterned sounds like the HVAC system or a plane engine. The sound tuning is V-shaped, with deep bass, prominent highs, and relaxed mids — this means it should complement EDM and hip-hop equally as well as acoustic tracks or string-based instrumentals. Music plays wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.3, the latest iteration of the popular wireless technology. It offers a strong, reliable connection and support for the LDAC codec so you can stream higher-quality audio files with compatible devices. It also improves phone call quality, using AI-based processing to eliminate background noise and home in on your voice.

Easy controls that let you quickly hear your surroundings

You'll find buttons on both earcups to control music, calls, and volume. There's a dedicated "NC" button on the left earcup that lets you to toggle between noise cancellation and "Transparent" mode. The latter uses the built-in mics to pick up external sounds and voices, so you can be better aware of your surroundings without removing the headphones. In the app, you can also choose between five different levels of noise-canceling and transparency.
