3,500 joules of protection

Consider this sci-fi analogy: this unit's joules of protection are like an energy shield. Much like the real shields of old, they wear out after repeated blows, meaning their defense is finite. The VII Series surge protector has 3,500 joules on tap to defend against otherwise lethal spikes. That translates into this surge protector lasting more than five times as long as other similar-costing models.

Once the VII Series has expended all 3,500 of its joules and its protection is no longer active, the blue Protected shield icon's LED will stop illuminating, letting you know it's time to pick up a new unit. Over-current protection safeguards against hazardous amperage spikes of 18 amps and over.

Noise has a variety of sources — like the power supply from adjacent audio equipment and dirty power coming from your wall— and it can be a burden on your audio and video enjoyment. In fact, over time, frequent exposure to electromagnetic interference (EMI) can degrade the sensitive electronics inside your gear.

Luckily, each of the VII Series surge protector's outlets features advanced Type III PureFiltration technology that isolates each outlet and rejects a lot of that sound-and-video-distorting electromagnetic interference and radio frequency interference (RFI).

Each of this unit's four AC outlets is protected. There are also three OmniPort rapid-charging USB ports: one 45-watt USB-C PD (Power Delivery) port, one 20-watt USB-C PD port, and one 2.4-amp USB-A port.
