Classic style and sound

The JBL L42ms is a powered speaker system with walnut veneer styling that recalls the company's classic 70s speakers. And the curved front nods to their legendary pro speakers that are still seen in countless concert venues. Under the hood, the L42ms has powerful amplification and wireless streaming capability. Built-in Wi-Fi® lets you stream music from your phone, tablet, or computer in up to 24-bit/96kHz resolution. It's also got Bluetooth along with analog inputs for connecting wired sources.

Custom amplification for the drivers

The L42ms's curved contour and waveguides give this speaker a remarkably wide soundstage for a single enclosure. Dual driver arrays each marry a 4-inch woofer with a 3/4" tweeter. Built-in four-channel, DSP-managed amplification delivers 75 watts to each woofer and 25 watts to each tweeter. That helps the L42ms produce full, detailed sound reminiscent of JBL's renowned studio monitors.

JBL remote and app control

The L42ms comes with a remote that controls playback, source selection, and more. You'll get vastly expanded control when you connect to your home network and download the free JBL Premium Audio control app. Access popular streaming apps like TIDAL AND Qobuz, music stored on your computer, [comma] and play internet radio stations. You can even select podcasts within the app.

Wired connection options

In addition to a pair of analog audio inputs, the L42ms has an HDMI ARC input. That allows you to connect it your TV and effectively use this system as a sound bar.
