Impressive Motion® tweeter

MartinLogan's acclaimed Folded Motion tweeter uses a pleated diaphragm that works similarly to an accordion by "squeezing" air to create sound. The B10's upgraded Gen2 Obsidian version of this tweeter uses larger magnets for greater detail and accuracy. The new design places it inside a custom Folded Motion waveguide that enhances dispersion of high-frequency sound throughout your listening area. 

Because it requires almost 90% less excursion than the typical 1" dome tweeter, response time is drastically reduced along with distortion. The diaphragm's increased surface area also provides wide, yet controlled sound dispersion to create a realistic and highly accurate soundstage. Music sounds detailed, but smooth and effortless, without a trace of harshness.

Accurate midrange and solid bass

The B10 boasts a 5-1/2" woven fiberglass cone woofer that delivers accurate mid/bass performance. The cabinet's rear-firing port helps deliver solid low end that enhances your experience with music, movies, and gaming.

Matching stands are a must-have for hi-fi performance

Placing the B10s on a solid set of speaker stands can minimize sound-muddying vibrations and allow them to perform as designed. Specifically, we recommend using the matching MartinLogan STAND25 so the speakers will fit on the top plates properly and the tweeters will be placed at approximately the same height as your ears, for the best possible sound.

Placement tip: because the B10s are rear-ported, they'll sound better if you can position them with a little extra space between them and the wall.

Unique crossover network

MartinLogan's proprietary Vojtko™ crossovers are named after MartinLogan's chief audio technologist, Joe Vojtko. The latest Motion speakers feature upgraded McCracken-Vojtko crossovers, so named for the influence of the company's other well-known Joe — senior loudspeaker designer Joe McCracken.

No matter what they're called, the aim is always the same: each speaker's drivers are carefully selected or designed to operate within an intentional frequency range and specific performance parameters. That allows the crossover networks — built from high-quality capacitors and resistors — to be clean and uncomplicated, for purer sound.
