When I added a colorful LED strip behind my TV it greatly improved my nighttime viewing experience and lessened my eye fatigue. Plus, it's just fun to have that pop of color for movie nights. And this thin self-adhesive Nanoleaf Essentials Matter Lightstrip isn't just a TV backlight — it's flexible and versatile enough to go almost anywhere. You can tuck it under cabinets in the kitchen or run it along hallway baseboards to add colorful ambiance lighting throughout your home.

This 6.5-foot strip includes a 71-inch power cable with an inline controller that lets you make app-free adjustments. Change the brightness, turn it on or off, or cycle through color options without ever pulling out your phone.

Need to adjust the size? You can easily trim it down or pick up the optional extension strip (sold separately) to add length. The included power adapter can support up to 33 total feet.

Basic Bluetooth control 

You can use the free Nanoleaf app to control the lightstrip's basic functions via Bluetooth. Turn it on or off, adjust the brightness and color, and engage the Circadian Lighting feature to automatically adjust the color temperature based on the time of day. 

Do more with Matter

If you have a Matter-compatible smart home hub (a.k.a. "Matter controller"), you can unlock the lightstrip's full potential — create lighting schedules, operate your lights when you're not at home, and sync lighting to movies and games with the desktop app. You can also adjust your lighting system hands-free if you've got a voice assistant. It works with Siri and Google Assistant devices (sold separately). 

This Matter setup allows your system to communicate using Thread — a low-latency mesh network protocol that offers a quicker response time and extended range for your gear. You'll also need a compatible "border router," such as Nanoleaf Shapes and Lines, or certain eero systems. 

Some devices can do double-duty as your Matter controller and Thread border router, including Apple TV 4K, Apple HomePod mini, Google Nest Hub, and Google Nest Hub Max.
