Hand-crafted for fine home theater performance

Italian masters of sound Sonus faber have put their heart and soul into crafting some of the finest speakers available. Their second-generation Sonetto G2 lineup makes a great entry point into the world of high-end sound. The Sonetto Center G2 accurately reproduces your home theater's center channel, providing a perfect match for the tower and bookshelf models in the Sonetto G2 lineup.

Advanced driver technology

The speaker's three-way driver layout consists of two 6-1/2" woofers, one central 4" midrange driver, and one 1-1/8" silk dome tweeter.

After years of experimenting with tweeter designs, Sonus faber found that conventional silk dome tweeters wind up working against themselves. It was discovered that the apex, or highest point, of the tweeter tended to go anti-phase when in motion — for example, moving back-to-front while the rest of the dome's surface moved front-to-back, and vice versa. This shortcoming can cause high frequencies to be cut off early, limiting the extension and reproduction capabilities of the tweeter.

DAD tweeter technology for better highs

To combat this, Sonus faber developed the Damped Apex Dome™, or DAD for short. The cone-shaped DAD enhances the extension of high frequency sounds and prevents them from prematurely falling off by keeping the tweeter's apex rigid and ensuring it's moving in-phase with the rest of the assembly. This results in a wider frequency bandwidth and clearer detail.

Woofer design inspired by nature

One look at the proprietary midrange driver and the two woofers, and you'll notice that their shape differs from the usual round cone. It's based on the petals of a camellia flower — and it helps them avoid sound-muddying resonances often found in traditional circular cones. The Camelia midrange was originally developed for the company's high-end Suprema speakers, and it's unpainted to avoid any coloration.

The woofers and midrange are seated in Sonus faber's Organic Basket, an asymmetrical design with no recurring patterns that allows for maximum airflow around the drivers. This advanced design trickles down from the company's high-performance Reference and Homage Series.
