Sony's BRAVIA X90 series is popular year after year because it offers a bang-for-the-buck feature set, including a full-array LED backlight and top-notch processing. And the latest version, the X90L, includes improvements like a redesigned local dimming structure with higher peak brightness. By dimming some areas of the screen and boosting others, Sony's XR Contrast Booster 10 produces a dramatic picture with bright highlights and great black levels. Sony's XR Triluminos™ Pro technology further enhances the picture by reproducing a wide color spectrum for excellent textural detail and natural skin tones.

Premium Sony processing

The X90L is the most affordable 2023 model to use Sony's impressive Cognitive Processor XR — the same one used in their top-of-the-line MASTER series. This powerful processor takes conventional Artificial Intelligence a step further by emulating the way our brains think and respond when we see and hear things. It cross-analyzes individual picture elements and quickly identifies the human focal point, so that it can immediately enhance each detail of that area. Instead of applying generic changes to the entire frame, it recognizes how individual parts of the whole interact with each other and makes precise adjustments to create a more natural picture.

Sound innovations

The X90L's XR processor also contributes to richer, more involving sound. Its 3D Surround Upscaling technology can create a heightened Atmos-like soundfield no matter what the source.

Acoustic Multi-Audio™ technology uses sound-positioning tweeters placed at the back of the TV that help the sound more accurately track the action on the screen.

And if you still want more, Acoustic Center Sync synchronizes the TV's built-in speakers with compatible Sony sound bars for even better sound.

Google TV simplifies streaming

The X90L includes the Google TV smart app platform which consolidates a wide range of streaming services into a single user interface. Watch an episode of Slow Horses on Apple TV followed by Beef on Netflix all from one watchlist, without having to dig around in individual apps.

And if you're feeling really lazy, you can simply ask the Google Assistant to pull up a show or movie. You can also adjust the volume, change channels or inputs, and control other basic TV functions using your voice.

The X90L is an excellent match for your PC or next-gen console, with a new Game Menu that offers easy access to settings including screen size, black equalizer, and motion blur.
