Versatile high-performance streamer/preamp

This high-performance UD-701N streamer/preamp from TEAC can handle pretty much any analog or digital stereo source you want to connect. It's got a high-quality DAC, plus Ethernet network connectivity and Bluetooth for wireless streaming. Connect it to your favorite amp — the AP-701B is a perfect match — and you'll get clear articulate sound with a super-low noise floor.

Dual-mono toroidal transformers

This streaming preamp's dual-mono architecture features two pairs of toroidal transformers — one pair for the analog section and another for the digital. It's got well-designed circuitry and construction that physically suspends the electronics within the chassis to help keep unwanted noise from interfering with your audio signal.

Built-in Delta Sigma DAC

The built-in TEAC discrete Delta Sigma DAC delivers an articulate, organic rendering of digital music sources. It can decode at up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD512 (22.5MHz) resolution for ultra-detailed sound from high-res music files. It can also decode MQA files. And it can upconvert the sampling frequencies of lower res files at two, four or eight times — up to the DAC's maximum resolution.

Versatile connections

The UD-701N provides you with a ton of ways to connect your music sources. Balanced and unbalanced analog inputs let you connect anything from a CD player to a turntable and phono preamp. Coaxial and optical inputs add even more flexibility and can handle high-res digital music files.

There are front- and rear-panel USB-A ports for connecting flash drives loaded with tunes. Or play music files directly from your computer connected to the rear-panel USB-B port. All USB connections can play files at the DAC's maximum resolution.

Wired network connection for streaming

You'll connect this streamer to your home network using a wired Ethernet connection to your router. Then it works with Wi-Fi-connected devices like smartphones, computers, and more. Use the free TEAC HR Streamer app for Apple® and Android™ devices to add, organize, and play your digital sources. It gives you easy access to your network-attached storage (NAS) drives, and it's got support for Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Qobuz, and more.

The UD-701N works with OpenHome standards for synchronized multi-room streaming, and it will also show up in your player list if you're using Roon (subscription required).

Built-in Bluetooth with aptX® HD and LDAC codecs offers surprisingly clear detail when you stream from your compatible device to the UD-701N.

Built-in high-quality headphone amp

This unit's built-in headphone amplifier can drive all manner of 'phones. It features two front-panel jacks — one full-sized 1/4" and one balanced XLR4 (4-pin) jack. The latter can be switched between balanced and active ground modes, which gives you even more flexibility for finding the best setting to drive your favorite pair of high-performance cans.
