A highly capable 4th-gen Scarlett interface

The highly successful lineup of Scarlett USB interfaces is now in its fourth generation, with some cool new options that make recording audio to your computer easier than ever. The compact 2i2 fits easily in most desktop setups, and it's powered by your computer's USB port. Its sturdy metal body houses two of Focusrite's ultra-clean microphone preamps and connections for guitars, synths, and other instruments. And like all models in the Scarlett series, it comes with a host of bundled software to get you started making music quickly.

Let the machine do the work for you

Unlike previous generations of Scarlett interfaces which used analog input level control knobs, the fourth-gen 2i2 features digital controls with Focusrite's cool-looking, multi-color "halo" level meters. That digital control allowed Focusrite to add a convenient Auto Gain mode — just sing or play for a few seconds, and the interface sets your input level automatically. Clip Safe mode automatically reduces your level if your input gets close to overloading the channel. That means fewer takes lost because of unwanted distortion.

The sound of classic Focusrite consoles

Selectable "Air" modes give you a couple of different ways to dial in your sound. Presence mode emulates the Focusrite mic preamps used in London's famous AIR Studios, great for giving vocals extra high-frequency shimmer. And Harmonic Drive mode boosts midrange harmonics for added punch.

Bundled software

The Scarlett 2i2 is designed to work flawlessly with all major DAW software, but if you're just getting started, you'll appreciate that this interface comes bundled with Ableton Live Lite and Pro Tools Intro+. You also get Focusrite Control 2 software for intuitive control of your mixing and monitoring setups. The included Hitmaker Expansion package offers a wide selection of effects plugins, virtual instruments, and more.
