The Approach R10 lets you track over a dozen important metrics for your swing, including club head speed, ball speed, ball spin, launch angle, launch direction, club face angle, smash factor, and more. With your paired smartphone or tablet, it can automatically record video clips of your swing and associate them with the metrics of that swing — you'll even see the metrics overlaid on the video for easier comprehension. Driving Range Mode lets you tracks stats for each club and shows a shot dispersion chart based on estimated ball flight. Garmin includes a phone mount so you can attach your phone to your golf bag and see your swing results in real time on the Golf app.

Connect with the Garmin Golf app

The Garmin Golf app is where you see all your data recorded by the Approach R10, in easy-to-follow formats that can be configured to fit your needs. The app keeps track of your performance in a number of ways so you can see where you need more work and where you're improving. You can pull up old games, or keep up with weekly leaderboards by uploading scorecards. You can even create your own tournaments and invite friends. You can also store video clips of your shots in the cloud and view them at your leisure.

The Golf app is free to download and most of the features don't require an in-app purchase, but it also offers a premium membership level which gives you even more functionality. With your premium Garmin Golf app paid subscription, you and your friends can access Garmin's Home Tee Hero to play virtual rounds on your home course or any of the 42,000 courses available around the world, and participate in a weekly tournament with a global leaderboard. Your Approach R10 purchase gives you a free 30-day trial subscription.
