An acclaimed SourcePoint speaker, improved

MoFi's SourcePoint speakers seriously impressed us when we first heard them. The latest entry into the line, the SourcePoint 888 floor-standing speaker, was thoughtfully crafted by legendary speaker designer Andrew Jones. His goal was to keep the design elements that made earlier SourcePoint speakers awesome and yet push the performance to an even higher level. This tower speaker uses a unique cabinet design and revamped drivers to deliver exceptional sound.

A unique driver layout for natural sound

Bass has always been a strong suit for the SourcePoint lineup, so it's no surprise that the 888 can bring the thunder. The speaker uses dual 8" woofers that dish out impressive bass for a tower speaker.

Lifelike highs and mids come from a 1-1/4" soft dome tweeter mounted in the middle of an 8" midrange driver toward the top of the cabinet. This concentric driver layout improves clarity by doing away with timing problems that can arise when the midrange driver and tweeter are mounted on the cabinet separately.

A cabinet that stays out of the way of your sound

A lot of thought was put into the SourcePoint 888's cabinet and front baffle to keep its sound as transparent as possible. Inside the cabinet is sophisticated internal bracing that keeps pesky resonances to a minimum. The front baffle uses an eye-catching, multi-faceted design — it not only looks cool but also reduces sound-muddying baffle reflections known as diffraction.
