Big center channel sound from Wharfedale

Wharfedale's new speaker line, the AURA series, oozes elegance. Built using some of the same techniques and technology found in their top-of-the-line Elysian models, it delivers great sound at an excellent value. The AURA C is the biggest center channel in the lineup. It provides exceptional vocal clarity and dialogue reproduction on blockbuster films and TV shows alike. Pair the AURA C up with some AURA bookshelf and tower speakers to build a complete home theater system.

Cutting-edge drivers for fantastic dialogue reproduction

The AURA C uses an effective two-way driver setup. Its distinctive AMT tweeter uses a folded diaphragm to get a much larger tweeter in a smaller area. The tweeter's diaphragm is immersed in a powerful magnetic field to give it lightning-quick response times. It reproduces silky-smooth highs with minimal distortion and incredible detail.

There are 6-1/2" mid/bass drivers flanking the tweeter on either side. These woofers use Wharfedale's unique woven glass-fiber matrix diaphragm. The material is both lightweight and stiff, giving your sound lifelike attack and decay. Each woofer is seated in a heavy die-cast aluminum chassis and features a low-distortion motor structure that helps keep dialogue clear even when the action unfolding on the screen gets chaotic.

Crossovers created by hundreds of hours of testing

Great drivers need great crossovers to sound their best. Wharfedale spent hundreds of hours fine-tuning the crossover in the AURA C, using both advanced analysis and careful listening. As a result, these crossover networks ensure that the mid/bass drivers and tweeter each play exactly the frequencies they were designed for, while keeping the transition between the drivers seamless. The tweeter crossover circuit is laid out on its own board, separated from the woofers' crossover to keep interference and crosstalk out of the equation.

Thoughtful cabinet design that's a feast for the eyes

The AURA C is beautiful to look at, but behind that beauty lies a lot of purpose and forethought. Its cabinet is crafted with multiple layers of different woods which reduces troublesome panel resonances to near-silence. The lack of sharp angles helps disperse sound while eliminating baffle reflections.

Wharfedale's patented SLPP (Slot Loaded Profiled Port) enhances the speakers' bass output. The side-firing ports on either end of the cabinet direct airflow through a series of slot ports in the speaker's plinth to equalize the air pressure in the room and inside the cabinet. What that means in plain terms is reduced turbulence (or "chuffing") and increased efficiency.
